Statistics about Conflict Resolution
Conflict Resolution models work. A growing body of practice and evidence demonstrates that various intentional models of mediation and restorative justice are effective in impacting various and complex dimensions of crime and violence. Some of the key studies have shown the following:

Reduces Physical Violence: According to the New Mexico Center for Dispute Resolution between 83-86% of respondents in elementary, middle, and high schools reported that they had seen a lot less or somewhat less violence since their mediation program was implemented in New York, a study reported a 50% decline in student assaults.

Less Disruptive Behavior: Principals report that conflicts referred to them decreased by 80% since the introduction of mediation. . Youth Empowered to solve their own problems: According to a University of Minnesota Study, 85% of students adopted negotiation as their primary approach to conflict.

Victim Offender Satisfaction: The Center for Restorative Justice and Mediation found the following results form this alternative model: 93% of crime victims and 94% of juvenile offenders were satisfied with restorative justice for their case; 95% of victims and 89% of juvenile offenders felt that the negotiated restitution agreement was fair to them; and 90% of victims felt that the offender was held accountable in the restorative process.
